Williams Wilson oil well near Coin eyed for oil bounty

In 1928 Gerald Bedner and Clark Davison launched a deep drilling project in Page County Iowa. Iowa's First Oil Development Co formed with trustees including William Jeffrey and Bedner to drill near the Nodaway River. The crew reached 3,328 feet amid water inflows and gas odors, with optimism of oil in the Niagaran system and ongoing public interest despite repeated delays and financial strains.

Mason TWP Girls Win Achievement Show at Bedford

The Mason Meadowlarks win top blue in Taylor County Achievement Show at Bedford for “Fun With Dough” 4-H division. Goeckers Reunion Set for Immanuel Lutheran Church

The Goecker reunion will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the school basement on Sunday August 18 1957 at 11 am due to lack of space at the Fairgrounds. All descendants of William Henry and Fred Sunderman, sons of Casper and Charlotte Sunderman, are invited.

Fair Jr Livestock Sale Promises Top Grade Stock

Approximately 100 beeves are expected to go on the block at the Clarinda Auction Co barn Saturday morning closing the Page County Fair. Clark Crawford chairs the event and notes better calves and finish for the year. Shoats weighing 200 pounds plus and some sheep will also be sold with Clarinda Auction Co providing facilities and personnel. Auctioneers will be Clark Crawford and I-Stickelman, with Stanley Pfander likely clerk. County firms and individuals urged to bid for 4-H youth project stock.

Bethesda Girls Home After Traveling in Europe

Miss Ardis Johnson and Miss Helen Marie Johnson returned from a six week Europe trip visiting Sweden Holland Germany Luxemburg and France.
