Readers of the citizen times will recall the incident occurring be tween David Hickey and teacher Kenneth Marsh a few weeks ago in which or Marsh reportedly St Ruck Hickey several times. Owmar venerate sole witness to that Inci Dent has apparently hit a ten year old child. To obtain facts we inter viewed mrs. Ruth Kauf Man Mother of the child and Pat Cobb the child s brother. Cobb s Story runs like this. Eddie the child was coming Home from school in the bus. Acc ording to other children present whom mrs. Kaufman called subsequent to the occurrence he was t doing anything. Kaufman substantiated her son s account. added furthermore that she had called officials at the school and had also talked to Brase. Principal Barger stated to Lier that a teacher has a right to spank misbehaving children. _ mrs. Kaufman replied that she thought there was a difference Between spanking a child and striking him so hard that a Bruise is according to mrs. Kauf Man Brase thought the entire situation funny. mentioned that she had a harsh Exchange of words with the teacher and that erase to the Point of being rude. Brase defended his Posi Tion by exclaiming that Eddie had the bus in a nonetheless he admitted to mrs. Kaufman that he had struck the child. Mrs. Kaufman further commented that of her four children who had gone through the prarie Community schools none of them had been entangled in discipline problems.
