Kuncl owners and publishers the citizen times the fire that roared through the offices and production facilities of the Cedar rapids citizen times three weeks ago was apparently the work of an arsonist according to conclusions reached by a team of local and state fire investigators who have been probing the ruins since the fire. In a conference held with the owners and publishers of the Cit Izen times wednesday morning fire chief Jesse Hunter and representatives of the state fire marshalls office said that their investigation indicated that the fire had been deliberately set in three different locations in the citizen times building. All other possibilities have checked and eliminated and there is no question in our mind that someone set fire to the citizen times building fire chief Jesse Hunter said. Hunter added that a thorough examination of the wiring in the building proved that the fire did not originate in the wiring system As had earlier been suspected. Earlier speculation had Cen tired around the building s Wir ing system because of difficulties being experienced with two pieces of electrically oper new location the news and sales depart ments of the citizen times will be moving to a temporary office building this week.
