Thunder Bay Safe Trade Zone offers police-surveilled meet spots
Thunder Bay Police Service launches the Safe Trade Zone with designated parking spaces on police property equipped with video surveillance for online marketplace exchanges. Spokesperson Matt Vis notes the spaces provide a safer, public option to complete transactions, though surveillance is not constant. The zones are accessible from Balmoral Street and active year round, with no prior police notice required to use them.

Enclosure planned for Chippewa Park carousel in Thunder Bay
The City of Thunder Bay progresses toward a fall construction of a weather sealed enclosure for the 110 year old Chippewa Park carousel. The project aims to preserve the heritage ride, allow year round programming, and upgrade safety while funding totals rise to about 2.2 million. Heritage groups and NOHFC have contributed significant funds. The ride, crafted by C W Parker in 1915, has run at Chippewa since 1934.
