Impaired charge after Thunder Bay vehicle rollover

A 29 year old woman faced impaired operation and dangerous driving charges after a Saturday incident on Ontario Street and Second Avenue. Police saw the SUV hit a tarped shed then a parked car before flipping onto its side. Fire crews extricated the driver as evidence of impairment was noted. The accused was released with a future court date.

911 call heard at trial for officer

The Thunder Bay Police Service trial of Staff Sgt. Michael Dimini opened with a not guilty plea to breach of trust and obstruction of justice. The case stems from a Nov 24 2020 incident when Dimini allegedly entered a residence without a warrant to assist his father in law after a TV theft. The Crown described a 911 call and notes used to support the prosecution, with four officers set to testify over three weeks.
