City considers two hour free on street parking plan
City of Thunder Bay staff propose two hours of free on street meter parking in most areas and four free hours at the marina. Drivers would still register via the mobile app or pay stations. The plan will be discussed at the city council meeting on Monday. See page A3.

Neebing approves 2025 budget with tax hike and road focus
Neebing Council passed a 9 million dollar 2025 budget increasing overall taxes by 3.6 percent to 888 dollars per 100000 of assessed value, about 31 dollars more than 2024. Thunder Bay police Constable Tay lor Auger had a charge of assault causing bodily harm withdrawn after a SIU investigation noted an April 11 2023 incident outside a May Street business led to a suspect being taken to hospital with serious injuries. The June 2024 SIU inquiry originally found reasonable grounds for the charge.
