Thunder Bay wildfires trigger water bomber response near city
A large wildfire on Thunder Bay outskirts and a blaze near Thunder City Speedway prompted a joint response by municipal firefighters and provincial water bombers. Traffic restrictions affected Arthur Street West to Highway 1117, with motorists urged to follow emergency directions. The Speedway race was postponed as crews tackled the flames, which were under control by 6 p.m. No rain is forecast soon, while two other fires north of the city were reported Tuesday and are being handled by provincial firefighters.
