Ottawa pledges 675 million for Gavi vaccine alliance
Canada commits 675 million over 2026 to 2030 to Gavi the Vaccine Alliance to fund vaccines for 50 million children against malaria and 120 million girls against HPV, boost cold chain in remote areas, and supply mpox vaccines, with parliamentary approval expected after prorogation. The plan cites global health gains and Ottawa's 1.75 billion core support since 2015 amid criticisms it falls short of the 720 million aid sector hoped for.
