Multimillion-dollar gift to fuel Lakehead veterinary facility

Lakehead University and the University of Guelph will build an animal education facility named Gakina Awe siinyag to support a joint Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. A $10 million gift from Kim and Stu Lang funds design and development as the northern Ontario cohort begins studies in Guelph this fall and alternates between campuses from 2027. An Elder-led blessing and naming ceremony are planned at the Bora Laskin faculty site.
