Neebing council unanimously approved a $7.2 million budget with about four percent municipal tax increases. Tax levy rose five percent overall, aided by one percent from assessment growth, with a $350 000 home paying roughly $3,011 this year, up $116 from 2023. The Muskeg Express at Thunder Bay Centennial Park derailed again and will be out of service for weeks while authorities inspect modify and test to ensure safe operation. Centennial Park facilities such as logging camp museum woodland playground trails and a dog park remain open.
