Doctor acquitted on murder charges in Hawkesbury case

An eastern Ontario doctor, Brian Nadler of Hawkesbury, was acquitted on all four first degree murder charges after the Crown sought directed verdicts. The case involved four patient deaths at Hawkesbury and District General Hospital in 2021, later supported by four related criminal negligence charges. The Crown cited pretrial rulings excluding key evidence, saying they would have forced an appeal, while Nadler and his lawyers maintained innocence and said deaths were due to COVID-19.
