Terrace Bay and Schreiber Fire Crews Unite for Drag Race Safety
Drag race safety in Terrace Bay benefited from a joint effort by Terrace Bay and Schreiber volunteer fire departments during the June Test and Tune event. Organizers feared worker shortages due to mill relocation but over 70 racers attended, boosting the local economy as the two crews operated together. Plans for the 25th Terrace Bay Drag Fest on August 24 proceed, with a Family Day market on August 3 seeking crafters, artisans, and car part dealers. EDF Renewables solar farm plans on the former airstrip remain 3 to 5 years away, potentially yielding $200,000 annually and supporting local jobs and mill tax recovery. The Superior Classics Car Club has raised over $500,000 in 25 years for hospitals, fire departments, schools, and charities, with some funds retained for club costs.
