Frustration grows over Ignace role in nuclear waste plan
Northwatch coordinator Al Brennain Lloyd says petitions collected by mid October will be presented to Parliament in late October amid a broad opposition to the Nuclear Waste Management Organization’s focus on Ignace. Critics argue other communities along the transportation route are sidelined and risk increases for downstream towns. The eight day tour included Fort Frances and Dryden while Thunder Bay and Conmee moved to curb transport and push proximity protections.
