Urban youth farm program grows Thunder Bay resumes
Roots to Harvest runs two urban farms and a weekly market through the Urban Youth Farming Program. Twelve youths from Lakehead District high schools work seasonally handling weeding, watering, and market duties while learning cash handling and customer service. Students rotate roles and enjoy harvesting, with organic pest control and hand picking potato beetles. Lily Street Market and Volunteer Pool market hours are listed.
