Farmington News Local visits and school transport trial

Mrs Dan Lindseth visited Mrs C O Lindseth last week. The auto bus began service in the schools with W F Arnesmeyer as driver. The program included a county nurse and multiple social visits as local residents traveled to Chateau and Evenson events. The Democratic nonpartisan rally drew a large crowd with Dr McGregor and Mr Meadors speaking.

At the bride’s parents home in this city on Sunday at 7 30 the marriage of Kyle Jones eldest son of Hon W D Jones and Maude W Wilcox daughter of Mr and Mrs M A Wilcox was performed by Rev H A Stong M E pastor. The couple will reside in Bynum. Both have served in World War I with Jones in France and Wilcox as an Army nurse on the West Coast.

Halloween Spirit Permeates Public School Amidst Attendance Note

Last week showed poor overall attendance though one grade achieved perfect presence with only one absence in eight weeks. Halloween decor charmed rooms with pumpkins and masks as classes held parties and a straw vote occurred in upper grades. Miss Belzer missed four days for throat treatment, with 3rd grade covered by trainee teachers. 8th graders hosted a party from 7 to 11 pm funded by several mothers. John Mozer led an arithmetic contest with 25 correct problems in 20 minutes, while Betty Foot earned honorable mention for a Halloween poem. Furnace heat arrived in Connor building, and Mr. Connor plans to move to the new Connor building after leasing his home.

Kyle Jones aged 31 and Maude W. Wilcox aged 29, both of Bynum, were issued marriage licenses last week by district court clerk Blanche M. Jacobson.

Camp Fire Girls Social Evening at Guardian Home

Last Friday the Potowatomi Camp Fire Girls gathered at guardian Ethel Haugen Harriet Doege and Mary E Forrest home for a social evening. Hallowe en decorations set a festive tone. They shared ghost stories by lantern light played games enjoyed a luncheon of salad tea and sandwiches and received favors after fortune telling. They left to the farewell tune Good Night Ladies.
