More than 20 000 Montana youths aged 10 to 18 join Boys and Girls Club work, run by Montana State College Bozeman with Federal Food Administration support. Clubs include bread garment corn potato garden and more. county winners win free scholarships and trips to the state fair.

Graduation Week at Teton High School 1918

The fifteenth annual graduation exercises of Teton county high school were held this week in the city. The class includes Mildred Forrest Hazel Hane Merrill Luther Irene Plummer Oscar Lyon Lawrence Jackson Hazel Golder Ethel Wallace Etta Roberts Vandi Hall and George Hall who died February 28. The program featured salutatory, valedictory, diplomas, glee club selections, and a class play A Trick in Diamonds. The Alumni Banquet and Junior Sophomore Prom conclude the week.

Red Cross Seeks Volunteers as Grain Gift Boosts Funds

Local Red Cross notes a major grain donation from Cole & Cole with one acre given for every hundred planted, boosting funds though staffing shortages threaten operations. A shipment to headquarters on April 24 adds vast quantities of medical supplies and garments from multiple communities, with several individuals contributing beds, shirts, blankets, and handmade items.

Unveiling Service Flag Planned in Fairfield Community

Sunday events include a service at the schoolhouse led by Rev. Haley at 3:30 pm and the unveiling of a service flag for eight local boys serving Uncle Sam. A. B. Guthrie of Chateau will speak and the Equity meets May 4 at 2 pm. Ready Money the Red Cross horse donated by Porter benches for auction.

Death of Ed Dennis noted in Chateau region funeral set

Edward Dennis longtime Mon tana pioneer and Confederate army veteran died Tuesday May 2 at his home northwest of Chateau after a two year illness. Born August 1 1845 in Knoxville Tennessee he worked as a freighter built roads and canals and helped supply beef to Canada. Survived by wife Lucy Callahan Dennis son Percy Dennis of Bozeman daughter Alice Dennis adopted son Chester Callahan Dennis and others. Funeral Friday at 2 30 pm at the home ranch conducted by Rev L F Haley with burial in Choteau cemetery.

Better Babies for Chateau Health Conference at High School

A child health conference organized by the woman's club will be held at the high school auditorium May 22-24, 1918. The program includes lectures by doctors and nurses, with Miss Baxter of Lewistown Mont in charge. all events are free. Mothers from the country are urged to attend with their babies. All children five and under will be examined and records kept.

John R. Gleason Poison Mixup At Ranch

John R. Gleason mistook formaldehyde for water and drank a couple of swallows last Monday at his ranch. His son found him soon after and transported him to town for treatment. He suffers mouth and throat burns but is expected to recover and is resting and nourishing well.

Ten Men to Leave May Eleven for Fort McDowell

The Teton county local board will forward ten registrants to Fort McDowell San Francisco Cal. Those notified to report at the court house in Chateau on Friday May 10 at 2 30 p m will entrain Saturday morning. Third Liberty Loan Subscriptions by County Totals

The county reports Third Liberty Loan subscriptions with totals for each town including Chateau toy slides 839000 and 35750, Conrad 30000 and 36650, and other towns. The state allotment for Upton county is 131000 with overall subscriptions at 194500 and an over subscription of 63500. The county is to be congratulated on their success.

Theodore May and Ida Muay sue all claimants to real property to quiet title. Filed dates April 24 27 29 30.
