Crop conditions prove win tre wheat prospects in Montana
Helena March 11 There is every reason to believe Montana winter wheat crop will meet expectations by next harvest based on county reports to Commissioner Greenfield. Only two counties show winter kill. 70 to 85 percent of farmers who left last fall plan to return for spring planting. Hay supplies look ample with potential to ship to other counties and prices easing. Ground moisture remains good from early winter snow and cattle are in good shape. Horses are the livestock most hurt by winter with expected higher losses.
