The Choteau Chateau Commercial Club and Valier Boosters hosted a sendoff with a banquet and speeches led by D F Mains. Delbert Bakeman of Cut Bank named captain and Lauris Thompson and others led squads as they depart with 500 others from Great Falls.

Senator Annin Dies Suddenly in Columbus
J B Annin state senator from Stillwater county died in Columbus tonight after a hemorrhage. He was a prominent merchant and served as senator from Yellowstone and Stillwater counties. He was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor two years ago. He is survived by a wife and five sons, both in the United States army.

Farm Bureau plans county meeting in Choteau July 1

Lightning kills Mrs. Dale near Fairfield
Mrs. Dale, wife of Ole G. Dale, was instantly killed by a lightning strike at her home northeast of Fairfield while watching a storm Sunday evening. Nearly 55, she was a Norway native who came to America at age seven and had nine children, including John Dale in France. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Norwegian Lutheran church in Fairfield conducted by Rev. A. Lunde.
