Draft delegates named from Montana for Camp Lewis training

Adjutant General announces the Montana quota of 4,000 draftees sent to Camp Lewis. From Teton county 119 men and 130 names listed will likely entrain June 24 for three months training at Bozeman. two graduates will study auto mechanics and blacksmithing.

War bound registrants leave Chateau for training camps

Eight Teton county enlistees were sent by the state board to Camp Dix Camp Lee and Camp Johnston for training after a sendoff banquet at the Commercial hotel. Attendees included Senator T O Larson toastmaster and Earl Graham speaking for the soldiers. A farewell service is planned at the T L Gap school house on Sunday June 30 at 3 30 pm with the community urged to attend and the service flag nearly finished.

Osborne Dies in Auto Crash Near Douglas County Line

J A Osborne of Valier manager of Equity Elevator was killed when Maris car lost a wheel and overturned near the sand pit by the Missouri river bridge. John Mars of Dupuyer and Reynold Vermulin were bruised. Osborne died shortly after hospital arrival. Mars and Vermulin escaped with minor injuries. Osborne 40, survived by widow and 14 year old son. An inquest was anticipated and burial planned in Valier. Sunday Tribune.

Red Cross Carnival at Great Falls and Choteau events

The Red Cross Carnival travels from Choteau to Great Falls June 13 14 and 15 with a town delegation contest and prize. Automobiles depart Choteau June 14 at 7 am. Choteau band attends. Refreshment booths at Rainbow hotel grounds. A Red Cross tall at Rainbow palm room June 14 and a Park hotel dance June 15. Mayor Morgan Senator Larson and Attorney Cole attended a service flag unveiling in Cleiv last Sunday. collection for Red Cross raised 55.

British Officer Addresses War Savings Rally in Billings

Lieut. C Reeves of the British army spoke at the Royal Theatre on a Montana tour backing war savings stamps. He recounted battles at the Marne and Ypres and his hospital discharge. R R Flint announced a statewide drive to raise 2 000 000 in one day June 21, with Teton county asked to contribute 270 000. Committees will visit nonattendees to secure pledges, and a statewide list of supporters will be compiled.

Red Cross Nurses From Choteau Enlist for Overseas Service

Two former Choteau residents Miss C so Peters and Miss Dorotty Miller have enlisted as Red Cross nurses for service overseas with the American Expeditionary Forces after graduating from the Deaconess hospital School for Nurses in Great Falls. Lieut Reeves arrived in Great Falls from Butte, was met by County Director Hirshberg and Mr Slint, and the group proceeded to Choteau to attend the Royal where the band and crowd gathered for the address and the Wednesday evening event for Concord.
