Conrad City Sells 180000 in Water Bonds
Conrad city announced the sale of 180000 in water bonds to Ferris and Hardgrove of Spokane. Proceeds will fund enlarging and improving the water plant bought from the Conrad City Water Co which has been under receiver since March 16 1915. The plant was sold for 35500 by Colonel James M Stanford as receiver. J A McDonough of Great Falls represented the receiver and C W Swearingen will supervise reconstruction. The work will start once materials arrive.

Wheat Growers Fast Track Growth to 3 Million Bushels
Dwight Cresap of Lewistown says the Montana Wheat Growers Association has surged with over 1,200 new contracts this spring and adds about 100 new members weekly. The group plans to market about 3,000,000 bushels this fall and expects membership to double by August 1. Farmers in Great Falls Build Temporary Flume to Restore Water
July 7 report by George O. Sanford states 30 sun river irrigation workers labored 15 hours daily to erect a 100 foot long wooden flume eight feet high and twelve feet wide near Grimes coulee six miles west of Fairfield. The section 28 feet long failed earlier threatening all patrons with irrigation loss. Also Oscar Germundson received ten days in jail for drunken and disorderly conduct after pleading guilty.

Death of Charles H. Swaine in Chateau after long career
Charles H. Swaine a Chateau resident for over a decade died Thursday evening at 8:00 from acute indigestion. Born in Macclesfield England in 1859 he pursued mining in Leadville Colorado later becoming a tailor in Caspin Colorado then working in Butte Great Falls Winnipeg and returning to Great Falls before settling in Chateau. He belonged to Woodmen of the World and Knights of Pythias and leaves Mrs. Swaine amid community grief.
