Mont. District Court Hears Forgery and Larceny Cases
District Court last week considered multiple matters before Judge Leslie. A guilty plea in a forgery case led to a sentence of one to 18 months. A Montana grand larceny case yielded a two to three year sentence after a plea. Several civil suits and foreclosures progressed or settled, with a $150 verdict for Yeager and Van Boscomb against Owens. Ramsey received a six to seven year term for assault. Court recessed for Thanksgiving after dismissing jurors.

Burton Beach News Highlights Social and Local Events
The American Society of Equity meeting was held last Saturday and the women's auxiliary held an all day session. The auxiliary plans a December 16 fair at Farmington with items for sale refreshments and a dance. Grace Reiding returned home after a three week visit with grandparents on the Teton Slope. The Burton Beach Sunday school met with Rev. W E Hall delivering a fine address. A warm day with a morning sprinkle reduced beach attendance. Mrs Grote has many sick children with colds and Mrs Olaf Forseth’s son battles a bad cold.

Official returns from Helena show prohibition passed 102 776 to 73 980. The constitutional amendment on equalization powers received 74 257 yes to 60 839 no. The boxing bill failed by about 4 000 votes. Three counties voted against prohibition while 28 favored it. Thirteen counties backed the boxing bill, led by Silver Bow with 4 421. Lewis and Clark, Deer Lodge and Silver Bow were the only counties to approve the vets measure.
