Ladies Auxiliary Meeting Set for August in Chateau
The Catholic church Ladies Auxiliary will hold its next regular meeting at Great Northern Park in Chateau on Thursday afternoon August 19. D R Peeler and daughter Mrs O Neil of Kalispell visit Choteau relatives arriving Wednesday. Mrs O Neil is wife of Dr O Neil son of W A O Neil county clerk. County Commissioner Chas P Crane of Collins, a former Choteau resident, bought the Mrs M C Taylor home east of the high school. Crane plans to move his family back to town within a month. W G Levy seeks the Republican nomination for County Treasurer and asks for votes on Tuesday August 24. Miss Edna Schutter, county high teacher, reports from Paris that her sea voyage was smooth until rocks near the coast caused danger for 24 hours. S O S calls were sent but the ship reached port under its own steam.

Choteau Mercantile to Open Millinery Department
Mrs. A. E. Bernard announces the Choteau Mercantile Co will open a millinery department September 1 with a full line and custom hat fitting. Shoppers can buy hats locally at reasonable prices avoiding trips to Great Falls. E J Hirshberg returns from Missoula after illness and death of Mrs Henry Greenhood. Hirshberg family remains there for now. The Chateau Montanan subscription is $2 yearly.
