A Sunday gathering of North Montana Lions clubs drew 137 Lions and Lionesses plus many children despite a strong wind over the Rockies. Weather forced changes from a park picnic to indoor venues, but the event featured a Browning high school band, community singing, and talks by district leaders about Lionism and community progress.

Teton High faces Great Falls Reserves in the season opener Saturday at Great Falls. Coach E L Kieffman pursues a new offense and defense pattern borrowed from former Montana and Tulane coach Bierman. The 18 man squad includes ten to eleven lettermen from last year and will travel with the whole eligible group.

A special council meeting reviewed state health and livestock rules on dairies and milk sales led by Dr. Butler of the Helena board. The proposed city milk ordinance, a detailed model approved by state and federal agencies, was not enacted, with 20 sections defining terms, labeling, permits, inspections, grading, and milker hygiene. a local inspector may be required if adopted.

Mrs. Cora Moore Dies of Bright's Disease in Choteau
Cora Violet Moore wife of Frank Moore died Saturday at 805 in her home after a long illness from Bright's disease. She was 51 years eight months and 26 days old and a 25 year resident of Teton county. Survived by husband Frank Moore three daughters Bernice Morton Bessie Loneoak and Margaret Corcoran and a son Wallace Jr. Funeral held at Episcopal church with Rev. Leois Young directing. Burial in Choteau cemetery.

Former Choteau Man Ships Cattle to Milk River Project
H M Montgomery of Zurich near Chinook sent four carloads of mixed yearling cattle from Choteau to the Milk River project district over the Great Northern. He bought from C Wilson Gray for about 4 1/2 cents per pound. Montgomery, employed by Winston Bros bondsholders, has deep ties to Choteau and prior leadership in local civic groups. He plans to buy more cattle soon including calves and yearlings.

Fiendish murder at The Club shocks Chateau
George Burrell proprietor of The Club in Chateau was slain about midnight Tuesday in a robbery. A lone assailant used interior wire to strangle him after a forewarning through a calendar page. The safe and register were opened and cash taken. Burrell, a longtime Teton county resident, left behind a large family and was a beloved local figure. funeral planned for Friday at the Episcopal church.
