Wheat Growers Cautioned on Crop Acreage Rules
Small wheat producers with under 15 acres or under 200 bushels once avoided quotas. New 1962 rules set 13.5 acre exemptions, allow penalties for excess or unused allotments, and penalize growers with no past production or excess harvests. Penalties equal twice expected yield times 65 percent of May 1962 parity price, adjustible with proof.
