School Bus Wreck Injures Several in Fairfield Area
A late model car driven by Sophie S. Johnson of Fairfield collided with a school bus on 4th Road N near Fair field, pushing the bus into an irrigation ditch. Johnson and 15 year old Karen Zink were hospitalized in good condition while six other students aged 15 to 17 were treated at Teton Memorial in Chateau. Bus driver Asa Leroy Matkin and most passengers were returning home when the crash occurred. Patrolman Ray Farrell said the bus was struck on the right rear, the cause under investigation.

Former Dutton Man Receives VIP Award From Walter Schirra
R B Bergan a structural mechanical engineer at the McDonnell Douglas Test Center in Sacramento received a Value in Performance award from astronaut Walter M Schirra. Bergan has won three VIP awards in three years while the center works on a S4B Saturn rocket for the Saturn V moon mission. He graduated from Montana State University in 1954 and is the son of Mr and Mrs Sever Bergan of Dutton.
