The second annual Montana Woolgrowers association session will convene in Helena on October 2 for a three day meeting. Attendance is expected to exceed last year.

Monument to McKinley Unveiled in Buffalo as Old Week Opens

Old Week in Buffalo features a new monument honoring President William McKinley who was assassinated during a Pan American Exposition reception six years ago. Teton County Board of Commissioners September 1907 Proceedings

Summary of the regular and subsequent sessions of the Teton County Board of Commissioners in September 1907. Reports approved include salaries, officers fees, jail expenses, treasurer balances, and various fund tallies. Road views approved for Choteau Birch Creek and Conrad Oldenkamp routes with public highway declarations. Contracts authorized for iron fencing at the courthouse and bridge work on Muddy Creek. Military holiday adjournments noted.

County Board Proceedings Fifth Day 1907

The afternoon session reconvened at 2 p.m. with a full board awaiting claims and adjourned to 10 a.m. Sept 6. On Sept 6 the board approved the I Y H Pings contract for building Muddy bridges at 86.75 per linear foot with bond of 3500.00. They also contracted Chateau Milling & Power Co to install four electric light fixtures in the county jail for 10.50 total. J W Shields presented Willow Round cemetery plat and field notes. surveyor to copy for the State Board and a deed application to the state. Claims were audited and warrants authorized, including 2100.00 to H A Holm for grading and right of way for Bene and Mountains road. Clerk ordered to buy 20 tons Lethbridge coal for the jail and issue a warrant from the general fund. (To be continued next week.)

Roadbed Improvements Underway on Montana and Great Northern

Work to ballast and widen the Montana and Great Northern line progresses with a 200 man crew and steam shovels at Vaughn gravel pit. Five months expected to complete the project enabling through Burlington trains Billings to Great Falls and on to Shelby for coast access.

First Snow Early Then Drizzle Favors Grain Crop

The season's first snow fell Wednesday morning then turned to drizzling rain. Grain crops show little damage as snow was light and frost unlikely to harm maturity. If weather stays clear for ten days, the entire grain crop should be saved with no loss.
