Conservation Ride Pictures Shown to Chamber Members

Carl Wedum reported to the Choteau Chamber of Commerce on a July 10 to 17 pack trip by the Northern Continental Conservation Committee. Participants from state and federal agencies and Montana State University documented areas and purposes during the journey from Lucke ranch to Badger Ranger Station, Lost Horse Camp, Muskrat Creek, Blue Lake, and Beaver Lake with mixed weather and an idea for a future one day circle ride.

Rev Harold Engdahl to be Honored at Methodist Church

The Rev Harold Engdahl and Mrs Engdahl of Quincy California will visit next Sunday. He served as pastor at Chateau and Pendrey for six years before moving to Rev Moore. He will sing at the 11 am service and a 1 pm potluck fellowship will follow in the church dining room inviting friends from Chateau Pendrey and beyond to renew acquaintances.

Pavilion Sewer Considered by Chateau Council

The Chateau City Council weighs adding rest rooms at the park pavilion by tying into a new sewer line from Spring Creek. Surveyor M. J. Kolence notes rapid progress on the main line to the lagoon while costs for a pavilion tie-in are yet to be determined. The GTA elevator asks about using the new sewer line with a fee, and tie-in terms remain under discussion.

Trinity Lutheran Sunday School Rally Day Announcement

The parish board of Trinity Lutheran urges all Sunday school pupils to attend church next Sunday with parents. There will be no classes but roll call will be taken by the teachers. Children from age three are eligible and welcome. bring your mom or dad.

Freeholders Approve Annexation of Cowgill Addition

The Cowgill addition voters favored joining Chateau city by 41 to 21. City water and a sewer are planned, with property taxes adjusted to align with city rates and special assessments for sewer work. Funeral notices also note the passing of Rev. A. J. Gravdal, a 73 year old retired Lutheran pastor.

Mrs Anspach Rites Held At Local Church

Last rites for Mrs. Lila Armstrong Anspach 60 were conducted at the First Methodist church by Rev. Grant S. Moore. She died August 30 after a long illness. Born in Choteau January 23 1895 she was a Choteau High School graduate and wife of Paul G. Anspach. Survivors include her husband two sons a daughter a sister brothers six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were named and cremation followed.

Kramer Named City Marshal in Six Month Trial

Marlin A. Kramer was appointed city marshal by the council to succeed Ed McFarren who resigned. The appointment runs for six months as a trial with a permanent post possible on satisfactory work.
