F. A. Long M. D. advertises Rye Gloyces fitted and furnished with an office on Hamilton Street in Choteau Montana, inviting customers to visit the location for services in the state.
Wm Flynn an old time resident of northern Montana was found dead at Power sheep camp near Power station along the M G N railway. Authorities concluded heart failure and declined an inquest while undertaker C H Conner prepared the body for burial.
The board adjourned the special meeting sine die as recorded by Clerk A C Warner. Chain reserved notes indicate approval and closure of the session.
Former Congressman Jerry Simpson died at 6 05 o clock this morning at St Francis hospital from an aorta aneurysm after a 10 day struggle. At the bed stood Mrs Simpson and their son Lester Simpson of Roswell New Mexico. The Scottish Rite consistory of Wichita will conduct funeral services and burial will be in Wichita. Local ads note a dairy cow and calf for sale at 40 dollars at H W Yeagers ranch Belleview.
Judge Tattan rules that cattle taxation valid only in owner home range county unless stock were driven into another county with owner’s knowledge and consent. Coburn Cattle Co. v S C Small trial at Glasgow sparks statewide interest among stockmen.
Chicago at Oct 24 shows cattle receipts near 11 000 with slow trading. Good to prime steers fetch 3.60 to 6.25 per hundredweight, stockers and feeders 1.15 to 4.40, cows and heifers 1.15 to 4.40. Texas fed steers 3.40 to 4.50, western steers 3.25 to 4.80. Sheep receipts reach 35 000 with a strong tone. western sheep 4.00 to 5.40, lambs 5.80 to 9.75.
Helena Oct. 30 Attorney General Albert J Galen issued an opinion on bounty payments for wolves and coyotes inoculated with mapbge and released to spread disease among wild packs. He says bounties may be paid for wild animals but not for inoculated or pet animals. The state board of examiners also declines to approve scales for inoculated animals except those killed by other means.
Parents warned about croup symptoms during cold weather. Chamberlains Cough Remedy should be kept at home and given early to children to ward off attacks. Mrs S Rosinthal of Turner Michigan endorses it as the only effective remedy for croup. Sold by C H Drake.
Jessie Mitchell files for divorce from Henry Mitchell in district court. Marriage occurred June 7, 1904 at Chateau. She claims lack of support and desertion since April 1905. Alleges February assault and ongoing morose, unkind behavior and abusive epithets.
The Great Northern Railway announces reduced hay rates from western North Dakota and eastern Montana to Great Falls Shelby Sweet Grass and Browning. Rates from Rugby to Great Falls range 3.40 to 4.50 dollars, from Williston to Shelby 3.50 to 4.00, from Oswego to Shelby 2.75 to 3.75, and from Harlem to Shelby 2.00 to 3.00. Special rates expire March 31.
