National irrigation congress to be hosted in Phoenix Arizona next year while Brigham and Ely Utah see continued miner strikes and mine closings. Navy reports four Marines killed and six wounded in the Coyotepe capture from Nicaraguan rebels during October 4 operations.
Construction teams led by Galusha and White arrive with two divisions and a belt of machinery. About four to five miles of grade completed of twenty three miles as crews push toward open stretches before freeze. Engineers Watkins and Amburn survey north toward Bynum while more outfits set in toward Power.
The Acantha reports that Teton County has 2 773 male voters and 299 women registered as books near closing show a brisk rise. Last election totals were 1 082 the county in 1908 and 1 422 two years earlier, with current registration nearly doubling the prior vote. Precinct registration follows.

It includes a $100 reward for violations of state code until $3,000 is expended, signed at Helena on August 10, 1912, with official seal and signatures of Edwin L. Norris and T. M. Swindelhurdst.
Milwaukee surveying force departed from the Bower ranch near Chateau after six weeks and established a new camp at the Flying U ranch fifteen miles north. Under Chief Healy the team of about fifteen men carried out extensive work both north and south of town during their stay.
County Superintendent Nellie R. Brown created Duncan District 37 from Chateau District 1 and Selie View District 16 and Jacobson District 39 from Cut Bank District 15 and Meadow Brook District 25. Teton County now has 39 districts and 105 teachers.
Twenty four of twenty eight applicants passed the state medical exam in Helena. Montana observes prevention day as the anniversary of the Chicago fire. Rancher James W. Brigg shot and killed his wife after she fired three times. The wife had previously killed a husband and served time in state prison. J R McKay, farmer in Custer county and Bull Moose advocate, resigned from the county central committee. State fair attendance was dampened by weather but total for the week was only 500 below last year.
County treasurer A C Burbank reports 72835 08 on hand as of Sept 30 1912 allocated across state and district funds including general fund sinking fund road fund poor fund high school institute and various district accounts with specific balances listed for each fund and related tax allocations.
Judge Henry C. Smith Leo W. Faust and Frank Hinzelbaker will speak in Cut Bank Oct 18 at 8 PM Chateau Oct 19 at 3 PM Valier Oct 21 at 2 PM and Conrad Oct 21 at 8 PM.
A. J. Cowell and G. Calvin Bower received 125 spring lamb buck lambs of the Shropshire breed from a Bozeman breeder. The lambs averaged 105 pounds and many carry registry tags. Judges deem the stock among the best in the region and all are eligible for registry.
The board of county commissioners of Teton County Montana will sell at the courthouse front door in Chateau between 7 AM and 3 PM Saturday October 12 1912 to the highest cash bidder the fair buildings on land adjoining Chateau east of Grove street by Spring Creek. The sale includes the main exhibition hall stock shed outhouses and all lumber and material on the tract and purchasers must remove them immediately after sale.
