Montana Wheat Certificate Loss Seen At $14 Million
Montana Grain Growers President Jim Stephens warns growers face a likely loss of about 14.4 million dollars in the December final 25 percent wheat certificate payment. He cites July 1 parity at 3.02 with November market near 1.67 and predicts December payments drop to about 2.87 million dollars versus 17.24 million expected, with national impacts indicating possible similar shortfalls. The analysis uses USDA estimates and notes Montana and national prices must stay around 1.54 to avoid losses.
