Coaches Don Knutson and Rick Baird anticipate a lean season with 32 players trying out and 27 kept. Allen Adams the only senior is out after surgery. A squad opens December 3 at the Fairfield Invitational and features multiple juniors and sophomores. JV will be stocked with sophomores and freshmen, while no freshman team exists this year.

The Teton Pass Ski Patrol sponsors a free Friday 8 p m film showing of Cool Winter in the library meeting rooms with optional free-will offerings for equipment purchases. A second Saturday showing is planned with the same sponsor. The Big Mountain production runs two years and follows a skier seeking patrol membership with dynamic skiing and carnival footage.

Winter Wheat Condition Report for Montana
Most of Montana's winter wheat is in good condition per the Montana Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. Five percent are excellent, 55 percent good, 35 percent fair, and 5 percent poor. Germination is solid with 5 percent excellent stands, 70 percent good, 20 percent fair, and 5 percent poor. Pasturing has been limited this year.

County commissioners approved forming a county-wide Hospital District after the canvass. A Monday meeting with Teton Memorial Hospital trustees will discuss the district, appointments to a new three-member board with staggered terms, and eventual elections as terms expire. The plan aims to preserve Medicare accreditation and decide on administration, with taxes funding operations. The district's creation passed 1958 706 in last Tuesday’s election. Antler Bank Robber Sentenced To 25 Years in Penitentiary
James Burt Dieziger, the Antler Bar holdup man, was sentenced to 25 years in the state penitentiary at Deer Lodge. He also received 10 year terms for two grand larceny counts, to run concurrently with the 25 years. He could be paroled after one fourth of the sentence for good behavior, possibly within five or six years.
