Auto rationing registration dates announced for November
The local board sets three day car registration on November 12 13 and 14 for mileage rationing. Residents must deliver excess tires to Railway Express Co and list tire serial numbers. Falsification carries up to 10000 fine and 10 years in prison. Sugar stamps 9 cover three pounds per stamp from November 1 to December 15 1942. Coffee rationing begins November 28 with full details next week.

Fire damages John Dale House on Fairfield bench
Neighbors alerted by a passerby helped prevent greater loss when a fire damaged the John Dale residence on the Fairfield bench last Friday morning. A water stream from an unshut hose and Red Comet extinguishers aided suppression. interior and contents sustained about 1500 dollars in damage, insured. The former Liberty home, moved and rebuilt by Dale on his farm, stood as a noted local asset.

Armistice Day Observed At Teton County High
Veterans of World War I affiliated with the C James Smith post of the American Legion call Armistice Day a reminder to support current war efforts. Exercises are set for Wednesday at the Teton County high school auditorium with cooperation from city schools. John Billings directs music and R K West, WWI veteran and prominent Great Falls attorney, will give an address.

Tragedy Strikes Choteau As Husband of Hazel Depner Dies
David H. Powell 21 husband of former Choteau girl Hazel Depner died when a caterpillar rolled over in a gravel pit near Great Falls. He died en route to a hospital. Survivors include his wife and daughter, his parents, and a brother and sister. The Depners traveled from Seattle for the funeral in Great Falls and visited Choteau before continuing home.

Legion District Meet II Success in Dutton 1942
The American Legion Auxiliary District meeting took place at M. E. Church in Dutton on October 30 1942 with District President Mrs Ronald Lapee in charge. A tea was served at 2 80 p m and was hosted by Mrs Wm Hodgskiss and Mrs Ralph Bourne. Thirty members and guests registered. The Legion meeting at the Dugout in the afternoon was presided by District Commander Bert I Packer. Benjamin Knight Department Commander gave a key address. Distinguished attendees included Herb Kibler Ed Sweitzer Frank Flaherty and Howard King. All Posts and Units attended except Augusta.
