Al Hensley, general chairman, announced preparations near completion for the Chateau Fourth of July event sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Attractions include motorcycle races by the Great Falls Motorcycle Club, Model T races, morning street sports, and a fireworks display. Chick Sulgrove chairs fireworks, Jerry Breen the dance committee, and Vern Paulson's Rhythm Benders play for dime dancing and weekend dances.

Grasshoppers are hatching in many localities in Teton county with reports of large hoppers in small areas. Poisoning operations have begun and bait will be available at Dutton and Chateau. Poppy Day Sale Netted 68 Dollars for Local Welfare
The annual Poppy Day event by the American Legion Auxiliary raised 68.74 after selling 700 poppies last Saturday in the county. Poppy cost was 17.50, split with half sent to the department and half for local child welfare and rehabilitation work. Man Sentenced to 12 Days for Reckless Driving
Alfred Gray of Chateau appeared in Justice Clearman's court Tuesday on a reckless driving charge filed by B I Packer. He was fined 25 dollars but jailed 12 and a half days for failing to pay. The incident dated May 18 near Beaupre corner involved a collision with John Moore’s car. several witnesses testified. Gray pleaded not guilty and was represented by Atty E L Man.
