Charles R. Scoffin, longtime Teton county rancher and early sheepman, died at his Dry Forks ranch near Conrad on Friday May 19 1905 after a long illness. Born in Lincolnshire England 1839 he served in the U S Navy during the Civil War and later became a leading sheep and horse entrepreneur in Montana. He married Ira Smith of Vermont in 1886. no children. His funeral will be held in Delavan Wisconsin with burial by the Masonic lodge. peace to his ashes.
