Mutiny at Deer Lodge Prison Ends With Disarmament
In May 1883 at Deer Lodge Montana a planned breakout by Thompson and four others escalates as guards Hauschild Root and Lockwood are assaulted. Thompson robs Lockwood with a pistol, Wells subdues the guard, and a volley of shots triggers a full warden investigation uncovering a hidden tunnel behind a cell wall used for the escape plan.
