Fishing Season Opens Sunday in Montana
Montana's general fishing season begins Sunday at 5 am with some waters opening later and others closed all year. The Fish and Game Department cautions that fishing may be poorer than usual due to low rivers and lakes from 1960 drought, shifting emphasis to mountain-adjacent areas for plantings and improvements. If moisture continues, conditions may improve as the season progresses.
