Hay Exports From Teton Fuel Winter Stock Losses
About 200 cars of hay, totaling 2 500 to 3 000 tons, were shipped by Teton county farmers to distressed Montana stockmen and beyond. The cold wave and storms killed thousands of cattle, mainly in the Nevada Utah area, with southeastern Montana buyers first in line for purchases. Local growers benefited from a strong crop, while statewide shipments continued late last week. Spring kill counts will reveal national cattle losses.
