Helena notes a new bill regulating fences with detailed standards for height, materials, and spacing. It covers wire, pole and board constructions, stockyards fencing, and criteria for barriers like rivers and ridges while excluding stockyards and grain storage areas from those rules.
At Corson several second hand pianos and sewing machines are offered for sale or trade. Includes various models and ages, with potential trades considered.
Washington notes Roosevelt issues a proclamation summoning the Senate to meet at noon on March 4 to receive communications from the executive. The document, dated February 23, 1905, designates the Capitol and requires all eligible members to attend. Secretary John Hay is listed.
Mrs. Senator W. A. Clark of Montana lies at the point of death in Dr. William T. Bull's East Thirty-third Street hospital after a serious surgical operation. Despite consultations with leading specialists, her condition has steadily deteriorated with Senator Clark at her bedside for four days.
The Cosmos Literary Society in Dupuyer Montana held a large Friday meeting with strong attendance. The program featured recitations by Louise Wilcox Della Humble Mia G M Marchand Lucille Anderson Maude Wilcox Hildreth Miller and a piano duet. A debate on intellect comparing man and woman favored the affirmative with Mrs Wilcox and Mr Magee speaking for it.
The Leota Mining and Manufacturing Co. board orders a drilling machine from Star Goodwill Co. of Akron Ohio. It will arrive in four to five weeks and drilling will start in the Bannatyne oil field near Collins. The unit guarantees 3000 feet depth and holes up to 12 inches diameter.
Jeff Previtt a rancher from the Sweet Grass country died at Shelby suddenly on Wednesday night of last week at his mother in law Mrs. Martin s home. An autopsy by Dr Powers and Dr Clark followed. Evan B Jones of Conrad acted as coroner and a jury found death due to cholamia intestinal poisoning. He leaves a wife and daughter and a brother in the east. Funeral services were held at Mrs. Martin s home and at the grave with interment in Shelby cemetery.
Deputy game warden Lownds caught several men at Big Fork for out of season killings on Swan river. EH L Sliter, Big Fork townsite owner, pleaded guilty in district court and paid a $100 fine, suspected to be a meat recipient rather than direct offender.

Chicago February 23 cattle receipts 5500 with steady to higher bids for heifers and steers. Prices show goods to prime steers 3.65 to 6.40, cows 1.25 to 4.50, calves 3.50 to 7.50, bulls 2.00 to 1.25. sheep receipts 1800 with mixed quality lambs and wethers listed from 4.60 to 7.75 and western/natives in the 5.00 to 7.75 range.

Henry Ford of Augusta reports the thirteenth child of Samuel Ford of Great Falls born last week weighs 11 ounces. The infant is described as well formed and apparently healthy despite its tiny size.

Washington February 27 The senate concluded the impeachment trial of Judge Swayne by acquitting him on all charges in the articles of impeachment presented by the house.
