Grass Hopper Campaign Runs Much Stronger This Year
Farmers report a heavier grasshopper drive than last year with about fifteen cars of bran used to combat the pest. The control effort has consumed 23,640 ounces arsenic 138 gallons banana oil 23,640 pounds salt and substantial syrup and saccharine.
Battle Against Hoppers Affects Montana County Livestock
The county fights hoppers with bait to cover 19 920 acres as rain and dampness may foster fungal attacks on the pests. Chouteau and neighboring counties report worse hopper infestations, forcing livestock relocation and pasture plans. More control this year aims to reduce hopper numbers in 1924.
