Secretary Baker Opposes Draft Age Increase in Senate Hearing
Washington June 20 Secretary Baker and General March told the senate military committee they opposed extending the army draft age limits as premature and unnecessary. Provost Marshal General Crowder also appeared and suggested action to secure new registrants under revised age limits next year. Lightning Strikes Mrs. Dale at Home Near Chutesgu
Mrs. Anna Dale wife of Ole G. Dale living about 150 miles from Chutesgu on the Great Falls road was struck by lightning while watching the storm from a window. The bolt came down the chimney and up through the floor striking her in the foot and running up her side. She was badly burned and died after the impact. Funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran church on the Fairfield bench with Rev. Lunde officiating. Interment followed in the local cemetery. The family resides in Montana and mourns her loss.
