Montana Fish and Game voices concerns over eastern coal development
Don L. Brown of the Montana Fish and Game Department warns proposed surface mining in eastern Montana could devastate 770000 acres of habitat and 2700000 acre feet of water, threatening fish and wildlife and aquatic ecology of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers. He questions the North Central Power Study and cautions against low efficiency plants burning Montana coal.
