Burton Bench Pioneer Dies In Great Falls

Christopher Q. Lindseth born in Norway in 1863 lived on the Burton bench since 1895. He died at Deaconess hospital in Great Falls after an intestinal ailment. He leaves a wife and ten children, plus brothers Daniel and Olaf. Funeral services will be held Friday in Farmington.

Valier Male Chorus To Sing At M E Church Friday

The Valier male chorus, praised as the best in the northwest, will perform at the M E church Friday evening June 8 at 3 30. Thirteen cars are ready for the Chateau trip, and a large crowd is expected so arrive early for seats. Admission is free but donations will be encouraged after the performance. The county commissioners held their regular monthly meeting with Commissioners Crane Kerr and Jones present.

Bosseler Charged With Altering Cattle Brands

Bosseler was arrested at the ranch by Sheriff Wm. D. Reiquam and jailed after being charged with altering brands on cattle identified as Glen Gibbs property. Sheriff Adds to Evidence in Aquor Moonshine Case

Sheriff Wm. D. Reiquam collected about three and a half gallons of moonshine from premises in Chateau occupied by Joe Scott during an investigation last Saturday morning. County Attorney Stanley R. Foot prepared papers seeking information against Scott for unlawful possession of intoxicating liquor and maintaining a nuisance. Judge Greene, holding a jury term at Conrad, will return the papers for further action.

Homesteaders May Lease Oil Land, Government Clarifies

A government statement to Congressman Leavitt clarifies oil and gas rights for homesteaders who have proved up lands. Entered entries not yet patented retain equitable surface and mineral rights unless known oil and gas at proof. Leases by entrymen do not threaten the government's patent withholding.
