The Little Old Log Houses of The Pioneer
A nostalgic reminiscence of pioneer life in Montana praising log cabins as intimate homes. The author recalls selecting pines for logs, dirt roofs vs shingled ones, gypsum chinking, and New England thrift shaping a genuine, shared home life in early western settlements. The piece blends personal memory with observations on daily living and culture.
