Dollmaker Cass Odom Forges Hope From Tin Tower
In Alabama, Cass Odom builds a sun machine era fantasy around Nancy a girl craving dolls. He crafts wooden dolls from a telegraph switchboard and metal scraps to soothe her. A visiting salesman profits, Jessie recovers, and Odom’s doomed invention collapses but seeds a later fortune as Nancy gains a patent and royalty income for a toy line born from the man’s tinkering.
