Governor's travel costs questioned over San Francisco trip
A Montana governor's 1933 trip to San Francisco faced scrutiny as fees showed a rail alternative costing up to 110 dollars, yet auto mileage amounted to 392.28 dollars with 5604 miles claimed. An extra 92 dollars for the governor's son and 375 dollars deemed unnecessary elevated concerns of improper charges and illegal room fees. The report criticized state insurance awards as unbusinesslike and spurred impeachment motions against the governor and secretary of state, with the house delaying rulings to a later session.
