Mayor Fabrick pushes campground and dump plan in Chateau
Mayor D P Fabrick outlined a dual use project at the Chateau City Council meeting. Plans call for using the gravel pit south of the American Legion rodeo grounds as a new dump with a bridge across Spring Creek to serve garbage removal and access to a riverfront campground. The existing campground would become city park, and a northeast park bridge would be removed. Materials cost about 1300, and the dump could operate three years if large items are avoided. Construction would start before spring, with efforts to find an east side dump continuing. The full program spans one to two years.
