A Saturday morning blaze at Dupuyer destroyed the Johnson hotel and most of several neighboring properties. Losses include buildings about 7 000 to 9 000 and contents 10 000 to 12 000 totaling 16 000 to 20 000. Forest & Fallon report insurance coverage covers roughly 2 000.
Early today at 10 30 a.m. a thief entered the McGlenn boys home near the mill and stole numerous articles. Miss Reid raised the alarm. the McGlenns and friends chased the suspect who was found hiding in a hollow. Goods were recovered and the man is in county jail awaiting further action.
Applications for final citizenship papers listed for Albert Meyer of Holland Conrad Jacob Meyer of Holland Conrad and Nicholas Torga of Netherlands Conrad with declarations of intention.
The following civil actions were filed since the last issue: Rogers Templeton Lumber Co. vs Nash on account and Rogers Templeton Lumber Co. vs Prinn or Prinor on account.

At high noon in the Presbyterian church of Choteau Miss Inez McLean and James Eckford were married in a small ceremony attended by relatives and friends. The bride, previously a grade school teacher, and the groom, cashier of Citizens State Bank, will honeymoon through Seattle Vancouver and Portland before settling into their new home west of the Roberson residence. Local well wishes accompany the couple.
The Cha teau Social Club completed its final organization last Saturday night and elected officers led by President Ed Roberson and Vice President Dr Bateman. An executive committee includes R M Farring ton and T L Rains serves as steward with about 75 members and plans to open the club rooms by week’s end. The furniture is purchased and some already in place, offering a social hub for residents to entertain and meet.
