Suits Over Breach of cattle contract seek 7500 damages

Immigration rising at Ellis Island amid higher arrivals
New York figures show about 1,050,000 immigrants landed at Ellis Island this year, up 22.23 percent from 1905's 859,010. If trends continue, 1907 could see about 1,283,415 arrivals. Deportations also declined from 0.91 percent in 1905 to under 0.84 percent this year.

Death of Julius Bjornstad After Horse Accident
Julius Bjornstad died from brain concussion and hemorrhage after a horse fell on him last Thursday. Doctors from Chateau and Great Falls confirmed the cause. Funeral held at the M. L. church with interment in Chateau cemetery. he was about 34, leaves a mother and brothers in Alaska and Washington.

Rock Slide Blocks Northern Pacific at Fish Creek
A major rock slide west of Fish Creek ties up the Coeur d'Alene branch of the Northern Pacific. The slide covers over 100 feet of track with 15 to 20 feet of loose rock, delaying freight No. 142 and a return trip from Wallace. About 20 workmen were dispatched, and dynamite is needed as steam shovels cannot clear the debris.
