Loans to Farm Youth Programs Expanded by FSA

The maximum loan is 75 dollars and must finance recognized rural youth programs. District and county FSA staff and county extension agents handle details. Increased Employment Will Indirectly Help Agricultural Prices
Dr Wrie Englund, assistant chief of the federal bureau of agricultural economics, told Montana State college extension workers that any price gains for U.S. agriculture from the European war would be indirect. He cited higher industrial activity and employment from war materiel purchases as the key driver boosting farm product demand at home rather than abroad.

Production Credit Associations See Stronger Farmers and Loans
Ernest E. Henry of the Production Corporation of Spokane reports that Pacific Northwest PCA members are financially better off than a year or two ago. In 1939 Montana to Washington associations made 9,049 farmer stockholders with loans totaling 41,130,478, down from 1938 due to less fruit financing wool carryover and AAA payments. The Great Falls PCA, serving Teton Cascade Chouteau and Lewis and Clark counties, had 340 members and loaned 3944,576 in 1939.
