Court Grants Liquor License Renewal For Collins Hotel

District Court Judge Ewing and Court Reporter Silk convened a special session to hear Kirschenmann and Hausauer of Collins appeal of the county commissioners denial. The court found the petition valid and granted renewal upon payment, then sentenced two Conrad defendants for grand larceny and fined L. A. Rein for trapping beaver.

Alexander Burrell Buried After Montana Mining Career

Alexander Burrell, born January 14 1851 in Edinburg Scotland, died at the Eclipse Argo mines near Canyon Ferry from heart failure. He lived in Morris Illinois and Chicago before moving to Montana in 1888, rising to manager of Montana Mining Company for the Americas. He served in the Montana House in 1893, married Abbey Kiersted in 1879, and leaves eight living children George Sidney Howard Nan plus five others. funeral set in Helena Friday.

Fire Ignores Winds as Chateau Barn Burns in Loss near $10,000

A Wednesday night blaze at the Hodgskiss livery barn in Chateau destroyed the barn and tools and several horses. Dozens of local residents saved animals and prevented wider damage, though eight to nine horses perished. Losses to individuals included McLain tools about $700, Johnston gear around $500, and uninsured property.

Halvorson Loses Damage Suit Against Cut Bank

Word from Great Falls reports H. L. Halvorson lost his damage suit against the city of Cut Bank over flooding of the Metropolitan hotel basement during a torrential rainfall last summer. Judge Leslie handed down the decision early this week with Halvorson bearing costs except the city’s legal fees.
